Q: Is Red Balloon Child Care a peanut free environment?
A: Yes, Red Balloon Child Care Center is a peanut free environment.
Q: Who owns Red Balloon Child Care?
A: Red Balloon is a non-profit organization. We do not have an owner, but a board of directors.
Q: Who is on your Board of Directors?
A: Our board of directors is made up of parents and community members with a desire to provide quality child care.
Q: What are the qualifications of your teachers?
A: Our teachers have a variety of educational backgrounds. We have teachers with a two year Associate Degree in early childhood, teachers with a 4 year degree in different areas of child development, we also have assistant teachers that have taken the Early Childhood courses through the mail. Each of our teachers is certified in CPR & First Aid. They also have yearly trainings in Shaken Baby Syndrome, SIDS and Child Abuse Prevention. Our fulltime teachers must also complete 25 hours of continuing education each year to keep current with child development.
Q: Do you do background checks on your teachers?
A: Yes, background checks are done for every employee before they begin work at Red Balloon.
Q: Does you center close for any holidays during the year?
A: Red Balloon Child Care Centers only closes on ? holidays each year. Otherwise the doors are always open. Those ? holidays are:
- New Year's Day
- Memorial Day
- 4th of July
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Thanksgiving
- Christmas Eve (close at 12:00)
- Christmas Day
Q: When is a child too ill to be at daycare?
A: If a child should become ill while in our program, we will contact the parents and ask that the child be picked up within a half hour.
- A fever of 100 degrees or higher
- Vomiting
- 3 loose bowel movements in a 24 hour period
- unusual and spreading rash anywhere on the child’s body
- Lethargic behavior, preventing the child from participating in the day's normal activities.
Q: When can my child return to daycare after being sent home ill?
A: A child must remain symptom free for 24 hours before returning to Red Balloon.
Q: What if I am planning a family vacation and know, in advance, my child will not be attending; do I get any “vacation days” for my child?
A:
Clients that are not funded via the county or state, may use vacation and sick days if you are a client who has a child(ren) enrolled for a minimum of three full days per week.
Each family receives two weeks per year. The amount of days will be determined by the schedule provided/contracted. Summer only clients will receive one week under the same conditions.
Each vacation or sick day will be discounted. The charge for the day will only be $10.00 per day as a holding fee for families with children age two or older.
The charge will only be $15.00 per day as a holding fee for families with children under the age of two.
All vacation/ sick days must be used in the contracted year and there is no carry over to the next contractual time.

Q: Do you provide meals for my child?
A:
Children will receive nutritious meals and snacks every day. The meals follow USDA guidelines and all meal components are present and age appropriate. Children between the ages of 3 and 12 will eat family style. This is where adults eat with children and some or all of the foods being served is on the table in serving dishes. Older children are encouraged
